Hello,
I have a simple cable interface. One cord goes from the rig audio out (speacker jack). to the line in on my sound card. I have had this part of the interface working for a while. I do have a TNC. I just have not done anything with it yet other than download the manuals.
The second has a eight din plug wired for my Icom IC28H mic jack, on the other end is a RS 232 it goes to the port on my PC (port 1) and a stero plug that should go to the "line out" jack on my sound card. My sound card only has three plugs, mic, line in and speackers/headphones. "No line out." So um wich one do I use. I have read web pages that say. go ahead and use the speacker jack, and not the mic. other web pages say use the mic and not the speacker jack. So I am banking that somone on the list has had this vary problem. witch one to use? I am looking to do packet, SSTV. A.P.R.S. maybe some FM PSK 31 (that is if any one will do a skid). I am doing to tune my rig to W1AW, for the CW practice. one of these morning. I dont think many do it on FM anymore. Most are using SSB I am betting. I was thinking with this interface I could set up a echolink link node or IRLP link node. then use my HTX around the property and town the the like I also want to interface with my log. it would be cool then just upload to L.o.T.W. (AClog 3.0) by N3FJP. all the docs say it is doable in thoery I dont know that it been gone with my rig or not. As I understand I would be testing this. On the set up page for it is says that because I have a ICom rig I need to use my rigs I.D. number, and that it can be found in my radios manual. I looked and lokked I could not find it. So I must be looking in the wrong place or for the wrong wording or somthing. can any give me a hand there? Well this post got longer that I wanted it to.
