[2m] Element Question...

Imagine a simple three element Yagi antenna.  Each element is fabricated
from 1/2" round stock.  Are any problems created by replacing this 1/2"
round stock with 1/2"x1/2" square stock?  I am trying to lessen the flexing
and whipping of the elements in Yagi I am building, has anybody tried this
square element idea?
