Hello Udo. I agree. Ran it through cool-edit, amplified, filtered, and
stretched the signal to slow it down and reduce the pitch somewhat (due to
mistuning of the original). Your estimation of the callsigns matches what I
hear. Also, listening to the whole audio clip it appears that the station
in question is being received via direct means, not MS. He is slightly
mistuned but appears to be calling another station (PA2??U). The weak
signal is in and out several times during a 26 second period, not varying
much in strength and you always hear the entire transmission. Not like MS
where signal strength would vary a lot in a small time frame, and where you
would not be likely to hear the whole transmission over and over again -
especially at 4000-5000 miles!
Wishful thinking on someone's part, I am afraid.
