I had previously inquired on the reflector, if anyone knew of an ongoing location to safely dispose of electronic detritus (Monitors, etc). 

  

One suggestion was that a rumor said Best Buy accepts such stuff. 

  

Yesterday, I stopped in at a Best Buy, and verified that they indeed will accept almost anything of a similar ilk, as long as the size is reasonable.  They have  recycling receptacles in their entrance foyer, labeled "cell phones", printers" etc.  I noticed an old fax machine, and a bundle of small stuff o n or in the recycle barrels. 

  

For large items like monitors, they request you take it in and drop it off at their service desk.
