Curiosity Rover Alive and Well on Surface of Mars Big news for robotics fans this week. On Sunday night Pacific time, NASA landed its new rover, Curiosity, on the surface of Mars. It was a complex landing procedure that required lots of things to work perfectly. And they did. The supersonic parachute deployed, the retro-rockets fired with precision, and the "sky crane" cable system gently deposited Curiosity on the dusty Martian soil. The rover appears to be in perfect shape. It has already sent several pictures of its current home, which it should start exploring soon. Learn everything about this amazing mission in this special edition of Robotics News.
