Hi Gang,
Normally, I am ROVER for January but this year I will be operating from
home (DM09ol) as a Multi Limited. This is a continued effort to expose
some of the locals to the "other side" of VHF operating. It was quite
successful as a training session during June of last year.
Being in center of one of the largest valleys in N NV has its advantages,
with 500+ Miles QSOs quite possible on VHF/UHF CW, let alone JT65.
I will be especially looking for new grids on 222 Mhz, trying to finish VUCC
on that band. I need many of the grids in CA to the south and north of
Sacramento, along with most of the grids in NV, ID, UT, OR and AZ.
The station will be as follows...
50 Mhz - IC746, 100W, 30' boom 6ele Homebrew at 35'
144 Mhz - IC706mkIIg, 170W Brick, M2 18XXX at 37'
222 Mhz - IC706mkIIg, DEM xvtr, 120W Brick, M2 7wl at 39'
432 Mhz - IC706mkIIg, 110W Brick, K1FO 9wl at 41'
To the Rovers cruising around Southern, Central, and Northern California...
Please take a moment or two in each grid to aim at N NV and give a call
or two or three, I will be looking for you.
During the slow times I will be sitting at the operating position while working
on finishing the 10 Ghz station and possibly interfacing a second 222 xvtr
to a HTX100 IF.
On the net you will find us logged on to the 220 mhz Proplogger, the JT65
page on the Ping Jockey site, and on the 6m DXers chatroom site in the 6m
and above chatroom.
