When I bought my FT-736 second hand, the power supply didn't do as much
as yours.
I pulled it out and took it apart. I found the small electrolytics were all open,
dried out from heat I suppose. I replaced them with the highest temperature
rating lowest ESR rating parts I could find at Mouser its worked fine ever
since. I didn't replace the output or input filter capacitors, they checked
good for power factor and leakage, just 3 or four small capacitors in the
control section. There's no schematic in the shop manual, so you have to
take the parts out and make your own notes for where and what.
