Its true that the common Molex connectors found at Mouser and Digi-Key
won't fit. I am certain that the connector that fits TS-440S and TS-130S fits
because I took a cable from my TS-440S and connected it. Then I
checked the connections.

Connections from the FT-736 shop manual: Pin 1 is +12 v, pin 3 is
ground/negative 12 v. Pins 5 and 6 are AC switch.

On the Kenwoods, pin 1 is one of the +12 and pin 3 is one of the negative
12/ ground. I forget the other details. Pins 5 and 6 are not connected and
because of the higher current they use two pins for each +12 and ground.

My dad K0CPN just made his 7th trip to the hospital in two weeks and I'm
now 478 miles away so I don't have a lot of time to search.

I'm sure I've seen after market ham cable companies have the spares
already assembled for the common connector. Check with Burghardt for
a replacement cable or with Yaesu, Kenwood, or Icom parts on some
coast. All should interchange an fit. I don't have any spares, I just have
enough to fit the radios I have and I didn't notice the DC cord that I think
I should have for my FT-736.

A search of the qth.net archives for YIK should turn up a source for the
connector at reasonable cost.
