  I have a Kenwood TM331A and it has great audio. Several of the other local 
hams have run the ADI and state that they have had good audio and that the 
radio has a really fine receive, but three of them have had to send the radios 
back due to an overheating/finals failure issues. The two that I know that use 
Alinco give mixed reviews, one saying that the audio is great the other (who 
had problems with an ADI and returned it for the Alinco) says the radio has a 
poor receive. I also own a Kenwood 440 of the age of the Kenwood that you are 
looking at and that also has awesome audio.
