Hi Bob,

That's a shame, and disappointment, to receive your new radio and find =
out it has some problems. =20

Sorry, I don't know the asking price of the mic you are looking for, =
which I believe is a MC-44DM. Occasionally, Ham Radio Outlet (HRO) can =
get/find replacement microphones for various radios, so a call to your =
local store might be worth a try. There are some Internet sites that =
have ham radio equipment listings and you might also look at a swapmeet =
or hamfest.

As for replacing the backup battery, again you might ask at HRO. =20

  Hi Guys

Well, I got my 631 and it's got problems. The mic looks really beat,
scrapes and scratches and the PTT button is sticky and loose feeling.
Biggest problem is that there is no audio output, only a carrier. The
other buttons seem to work OK.

Problem 2 is the when the radio is turned off, all the memories and
settings are not saved. I'm assuming this is the lithium back-up =
battery?

As I negotiate with the seller, I would like to know what a compatible
replacement mic would cost? (original is discontinued)

How involved is the battery replacement and what would a qualified =
shop
  charge to fix this?

  73's

  bob
