[222EME] Holiday Greetings

Howdy,

By now, you should have each received your monthly update posting from
QSL.NET showing your personal username and password by which you can access
and change your preferences to each of your QSL/QTH.NET reflectors.

Each month, these postings also contain a little blurb which most of us
probably don't even read or see, appealing for support donations for
QSL.NET. The annual holiday season is upon us once again. On the surface,
not much has seemed to have changed in the world of QSL.NET reflectors; but
did you realize that means that:
* Al Waller, K3TKJ and Tim Miller are still working hard to keep all of
these hundreds of reflectors running at reliability levels that I'm certain
no other reflector sponsor can match;
* the many hundreds and simple diversity of QSL.NET reflectors helps insure
there's at least one of these for each and every ham in North America, if
not the world;
* there is no overt charge for the use of any of these reflectors at any
time, at any traffic volume, or at the high quality and reliability level
which we've all come to expect from a QSL.NET reflector;
* and as usual, financial support for all QSL.NET activities, including all
the hardware, purchased bandwidth, and software, comes SOLELY from YOURSELF
and out of Al Waller's pocket.

And guess what that last point means: unlike each and every one of your
other NON-QTH/QSL.NET reflectors,absolute ZERO SPAM and absolute NO
commercial advertising makes it through your reflector (and if any does,
your friendly reflector administrator IMMEDIATELY takes care of the anomaly!).

In this holiday season of 2002 (and again as usual), there are many of us
who are so unfortunate as not to know from where our next dollar will come.
Many others know that answer, but also know those few dollars will be
insufficient to meet their needs. And many more of us still, know that
their next dollar will be MORE than enough to support their and their
family's needs, even at the opening of this holiday shopping season. It's
this last group whom I'm really addressing at this point.

Before you've spent it all.... how about sharing of your excess this season
and sending in a generous donation to support your favorite e-mail
reflector sponsor? If you can and will oblige, please read Al's request for
donations with payment information which I've reposted below and do what
you can; YOUR dollar just might make the difference to keep this system
going yet another year!

And as all of you know: if there's anything I, as the administrator for
several of these great QTH/QSL.reflectors can do for you, just drop me an
e-mail and let me know. Administrators aren't in this position for ego:
we're here to serve YOU, the reflector users.

TNX, and all the best to all of you;
Steve, KXP
Administrator, HSMS/JT44; 33cm; and 222EME reflectors

As a user of the mailing lists at QTH.NET you understand the
importance of good communications. We strive to have the best mailing
list environment possible, no spam, no advertising and your complete
privacy as a user.

The major costs of running this system is bandwidth for Internet
access.

There are few bargains left in this world but I see this as one of
them. Please contribute to the funding of this site. I suggest $15,
less than an ARRL membership, less than a nice dinner out with the
family but so important to our future. The choice is yours. I can't
continue forever without your help.

If you care to contribute, please do it today.
