I was hoping someone else would answer, but I will since no 
one else did.

A screen doesn't mean anything if you have enough radials, 
but it certainly helps when the radial system is small or 
sparse.

Ground stakes also don't mean much. On 160, a rod or stake 
is probably going to be 30-150 ohms no matter how deep it 
is. Skin depth on 160 and higher would not allow a deep rod 
to be effective.

I've thought about welded galvanized fence as a screen but I 
have to admit I've never tried it. I really don't think 
anything except copper would have a long life in my soil, 
which is a clay with thin topsoil on top.  I really think 
you would do just as well with radials, even if very short 
in some directions.

Is there some particular reason you wanted to use a screen, 
like lack or room or ease??
