Way way back in the days of tubes and straight keys. AKA BFI
(BeForeInternet)
You arranged a 'sked' by mail.
I remember sending a letter to a station in West Pakistan, (profectic), to a
Ham Signal Corps Officer to arange a 20 meter cw sked.
I dated the sked 6 months in the future, for a weeks of
calling/listening/hoping.
He replied with a letter agreeing to the date.
Turnaround time for the letters....13 weeks.
Then we waited ....
Got him on 3rd day of the skeduled week.
Absolutely riding on cloud nine, then realization that it could take at
least another 13 weeks to get the qsl...if lucky.
Just for you info, there was no LoTW back then. LOL
Receiver was a Drake 2B, and a Eico 720 rockbound transmitter.
