If the spur went away about sunset it COULD be that the station went
to its night pattern with more antennae and associated tuned circuits OR
that it reduced power for night time. Often AMBC harmonics disappear when
the phasing circuits are put in line.
I'm an olde radio guy and worked BC for many years - including a
whole bunch of A.M.

Spur is off now. Must have went off about sunset or it moved
frequency.
It's easy to identify. Put your receiver on AM, use a wide
filter, and you can actually hear the distorted songs.
If it comes back tomorrow maybe we can find the general
location or callsign.
