Termination becomes slightly less important because of
losses in the long antenna, but only slightly.

I measure as much as 30-50% reduction in current over the
length of a 700-800 foot Beverage. That's a one-way signal
loss of about 3-6dB.  That loss in signal propagating down
the antenna doesn't add more than a few dB of F/B to a
misterminated antenna.
