  The 1 mW 80 meter signal is quite readable here, which is
  not surprising if the transmitting antenna has any
  efficiency at all. On a quiet winter night last year W8LRL
  was readable here and I am readable at his QTH with
  significantly less than 500 microwatts. I think we were
  actually down less than 100 microwatts, if I remember
  correctly.

  W4ZV was playing with this last year. I'm not sure what
  Bill's ultimate miles per watt distance was.
