Hello List
I am new to 160 meters. I just got up an antenna about 10 days ago and =
want to pick everyone's brain about how to make my configuration better. =
I am located in Palmetto, FL, south of Tampa. I have a small 1/4 acre =
lot and don't have many options for a "good" 160 meter antenna. I am =
currently using a shortened inverted V dipole (about 170' in length) =
with two loading coils. The peak of the antenna is about 50-52' or so =
and the ends of the antenna are only about 15' off the ground. I =
haven't been on the band long enough to know what the characteristics of =
the band are but I haven't heard any DX yet. I have been able to work =
several states but most nights I only hear Florida stations. Any info =
on propagation or ways to better my antenna situation would be greatly =
appreciated!
