Excellent comment on performance of the sloper!
On the Butternut HF2 - check their web site and double check you have the
correct 160 meter coil.
In antenna section look under manuals in the accessory section.
Butternut has a good lineup of past documentation. There is an older
discontinued in 1981 - 160 coil that was made for the HF5 not the HF2. (if
you have that coil - it's a problem)

Hi Willie,
You will hear all kinds of things about slopers, but the bottom line
is prformance of a sloper is highly dependent on the ground and what
the antenna is worked against.
Slopers can range from OK performance, to absolutely terrible
performance.
What is the exact antenna configuration you are planning? Will this
be on a tower or mast, and if so what else is on the tower or mast
besides the sloper??73, Tom W8JI
