Bob,

Usually a G5RV antenna is made with a section of 450-Ohm window line, not
300-Ohm twinlead.  In any event, the parallel line is part of the antenna
system, not a transmission line.  I would not change the length of the
parallel line.

For what it is worth, G5RV originally designed the antenna for use on 20m.
Then he discovered that it worked on 80m thru 10m with a tuner.
