To Whom It May Concern:
=A0 =A0=A0 Hello, and best wishes from Ft. Wayne,Indiana.=A0 May has been na=
med=20
Military Appreciation Month by the U.S. Congress.=A0 My name is Emery McClen=
don, and=20
my Amateur Radio call is KB9IBW.=A0 As you may be aware I was the manager fo=
r=20
the Ft Wayne,In. and National Rally For America Amateur Radio Special Event=20
station that was held in West Virginia.=A0 The purpose of the Special Event=20=
was to=20
have Amateur Radio operators contact military personnel around the globe to=20
show America's support for our young men and women in uniform.=A0 The event=20=
was a=20
huge success.=A0=20
=A0 =A0=A0 We are going to hold another special event this year on May 29,20=
04 that=20
will involve all Ham's who would like to contact troops and others involved=20
in Military Service, to show our support once=20
again.=A0 What we would like to do is have all Amateur Radio Clubs and=20
operators in the United States and around the world set up stations in publi=
c places=20
such as a shopping mall or public park or other public area where many peopl=
e=20
may gather.=A0 Then we will=A0 contact military members and veterans world w=
ide for=20
approx 4 to 6 hours via radio.=A0 We would also allow the people who are=20
gathered at these sites to talk live to the troops and show them our support=
.=A0 We=20
ask that Military ham operators and Clubs join in with us so that we can hon=
or=20
you.=A0=A0=20
=A0 =A0 Please pass this email on to as many Clubs and Ham Radio people as=20
possible so that we can receive feedback and to get the word out to as many=20=
military=20
bases and personnel as possible so that they can participate.
=A0 =A0=A0 We would like to have Amateur Radio bulletin boards, publications=
, and=20
internet sites post this information and provide feedback, as well as any ot=
her=20
sites and publications that can be contacted.=A0=20
=A0 =A0=A0 We here at Ft Wayne, In. as members of the FT Wayne Radio Club, a=
nd the=20
Allen County Amateur Radio Technical Society support the idea, and would lov=
e=20
to have Amateur Operators join us in this endeavor to help show support to o=
ur=20
troops, and their families.
We want to=A0 have the family members of military personnel speak third part=
y=20
via Ham Radio to our troops along with anyone else wishing to talk that may=20=
be=20
at the location where a radio station is set up.=A0 This would be a great mo=
rale=20
booster for us at home, and for our military personnel.
=A0 =A0=A0 Please join us in this activity and submit any ideas to KB9IBW /=20=
Emery=20
McClendon; Special Event manager, via email at [email protected].=A0=20
=A0 =A0=A0 Thank you in advance and let's show the world what Amateur Radio=20=
can do=20
on this Special day.
=A0 =A0=A0 Other information will be posted as the Event progresses, and we=20=
move=20
forward with planning.

=A0 =A0=A0 Our troops have expressed a desire for this type of support, and=20=
Amateur=20
Radio could really be a great opportunity to show the world what our hobby=20
can do for public service.=A0 Please spread the word and join in with us for=
 this=20
very special event which we have named ARMADA.
Amateur Radio Military Appreciation Day.
Thank you!

God Bless America & God Bless Our Troops!
