[1000mp] Failure of VRF/Mem CH control

This is a common issue and you need to replace the men/ch encoder which involves removing the front panel (main vfo and knobs). If you do a search online there are sources for a replacement encoder.
I had mine recently changed last year by a local technician here in Australia.
