Peter,

Thanks for sharing the results of your troubleshooting.  Voltage 
regulators on older radios can cause a lot of strange things to happen! 
  I've added your PDF to my FT-1000MP file.

You did a beautiful job on your Elmac transmitter. What paint did you 
use on the cabinet??
