I don't notice it in regular AM reception, only in synchronous reception. If I turn the RF gain up the squeal usually stops. I've also noticed that the audio seems weaker in SSB than on AM reception even using the 6khz filter. Why is that? One last question involving RF gain control. Sometimes when I turn it all the way down the main busy light goes completely off along with a complete s-meter drop to zero. What is that? Should I pose these as separate questions? Thanks y'all. 73 Jason Bowen, KB5VXX
