Jason - I've noticed similar on the FT1000MP-V over the years where power
will rise slightly after some time when running below full output. It is
also sensitive to where in the passband you're transmitting - the power at
the edges lower than in the middle. Unless someone has an example which
says it's a precursor to a problem, I've ignored it as one of the rig's
design "features" (others being the fan doesn't always cycle off and the
birdies every 80 khz or so).

Subject: [1000mp] Question about FT1000MP RF output rising during FT-8
So everyone, I have a question. I have noticed that my FT1000MP RF output
starts out a bit low and rises as I transmit on FT-8. I have it setup to
transmit 25 watts with the remember power settings set on the WSJT software.
Well the next day when starting to transmit the RF output is close to 20/22
watts, and as I transmit the output rises to a bit over 25 watts with me not
touching any of the previous day's settings. If I crank the transmit audio
power slider up on the WSJT software to push it up to 25 watts, then I wind
up having to pull it back down just a tad to keep it at
25 watts. I also have to bump the audio level slider up a few db on
10meters. It seems like I'm getting increasing gain somewhere as the
transmit section warms up. Any idea what I have going on, or if something
bad is fixing to happen to my radio? Thanks all. 73!
