Hello Patrick,
I never had any issue with my FT-1000 but from former files on this list I remember, that one reason for your problem could be the jogring around the big dial knob. You can move it slightly clockwise or counterclockwise to tune frequency down and up. If this ring hangs or there is a problem with the electronic behind, it might occur that the TRX endlessly tunes down or up.
I never use the jogring for tuning and I think not many do. So this might easily get out of sight...
Good luck es 73

Betreff: [1000mp] VFO problem
Tonight my FT-1000MP had its first failure. Upon powering on the radio, the VFO tuned itself down to 100kHz no matter where I was tuned to. Once there, I can turn the VFO to tune upwards but as soon as I stop, it returns back again. I can change bands and it will immediately start its descent to 100kHz regardless of band. Transmitting will temporarily halt this progression but as soon as it’s back to RX, down it goes again.
I did find a single mention of this issue on the internet, at mods.dk and he said it was a voltage regulator on the CNTL-1 board, Q5056. Has anyone else experienced this issue and if so, were the conclusions similar or different?
Thank you.
