Hi the group,

I have had my MKV field for 14 years now and am still very happy with the
performance, regardless of published specs that knock the radio's close in
BDR at 5khz, mine with stock filters has no problems at all and can work in
2KC to another strong station and still resolve the station I am working.

After speaking with an extremely knowledgeable radio tech here in Canada,
who indicated that the first thing he always did was go over the built in
pwr supply in the MP as they often need work. There is a good article on
this on the internet, but this is not for the faint of heart due to the
extremely high voltages present.

So what I decided to do was run mine from an external quality DC supply(
yaesu FP1030A) and the radio is now much quieter as well as no lag down
time to light the display. I will eventually ship the radio to have it gone
over but for now am very pleased

If the radio you are looking at has not been driven hard(contesting with a
lot of hrs on the finals) you will likely be very happy with your purchase.
