[1000mp] FT1000MP MK5 and reliability with age-and other rig suggestions

Hi John and to the group,
I purchased my mk v field in 2004 and love the radio, absolutely no
problems of any kind to this point, can't comment on availability of parts
other than Yaesu does not service them. You are lucky to have some one in
Tennessee that is an expert on repair, I wish he would make service
available to Canada as well though-not sure what I will do if I start
having problems. Your 950 is a great rig also.
