Jim,
I had that happen to my 1000MP 10 years ago. There are two DSP boards. DSP-A
and DSP-D. Rather than sending the radio in for repair, I bought both boards
and replaced them in the radio. That fixed the problem. In case that
happened again, I bought both spares. A year ago I sold the 1000MP so no
longer need the spares.

Replacement cost for both is over $400 ten years ago. You can call Yaesu and
find out the current cost. I can sell you these spares for $250 including
shipping and I take PayPal. I kept the instructions and will include them.
The replacement is not that difficult.

Doug

The green EDSP LED comes on when pushed.  Turning either EDSM control
right/left  causes main receiver to go silent.  May have worked once or
twice for a few seconds upon tuning on cold radio...not sure.  Enclosed
"can" for sale on eBay claiming "working EDSP".  But believe EDSP is is a
whole circuit board  not just this "can" unless the board is inside it !  My
full bank of filters creates custom tailoring of SSB receive audio but would
be nice to have a completely working FT 1000 MP/  Your experience with this
common issue appreciated.   73, Jim W3NRJ
