[1000mp] EDSP dead -- fix ???

The green EDSP LED comes on when pushed.  Turning either EDSM control right/left  causes main receiver to go silent.  May have worked once or twice for a few seconds upon tuning on cold radio...not sure.  Enclosed "can" for sale on eBay claiming "working EDSP".  But believe EDSP is is a whole circuit board  not just this "can" unless the board is inside it !  My full bank of filters creates custom tailoring of SSB receive audio but would be nice to have a completely working FT 1000 MP/  Your experience with this common issue appreciated.   73, Jim W3NRJ
