Try disconnecting the microphone. I believe a stuck button has caused this in the past.

I have a 1998 FT-1000MP that needs repair. When switching to CW, the
transmitter keys up by itself, simulating a steady key down condition. If I
press either of the VOX or MOX buttons when in CW mode, it transmits a
steady carrier.

Disconnecting the paddles or key did not fix this. It seems to receive OK.

I don't know whether there is a small circuit board that could be removed
and repaired, or perhaps the main CPU has a shorted output pin. I've tried
all kinds of resets without success.

Where can I send it for repair? Any ideas, anyone?
