[1000mp] MARK-V FT100MP FIELD Problem

I was trying to work a DX station last evening on 40 meters when suddenly
the front panel went blank. I can't see bands or anything, just a black
screen. The radio still seem to be working otherwise. I  can't find anything
in the Manuel about this.  Can someone tell me what the problem might be and
is it fixable ?    The Mark-V was purchased in 2006.
