[1000mp] ft-1000mp problem

Gang,

Thank You everyone for your assistance with this.  My back woke me up at 
0345 local this morning, (second back surgery on the horizon) a little 
to early to expect answers from any queries about fixing the radio.  I 
have had it apart several times in the last 3 days, but surface mount 
stuff is just to tiny for my 67 year old eyes to deal with.

This is so frustrating for me as the low band DX season is just getting 
under way and I only need 12 more countries on 80M for 5 Band DXCC.  The 
worst was yesterday afternoon I could hear TO2TT Mayotte, with a good 
enough signal to call, and a friend about 15 miles north had just worked 
them.  They would have given me number 288 confirmed.  About 5 seconds 
after I gave them a call the "A" vfo started tuning down and I could not 
make it stop.  Arrrrrrrrrgh!

I have email out to some of the other repair suggestions.  It's nearly 
daylight here.
