[1000mp] 1000mp Digest, Vol 109, Issue 1

[GRG]

I had to repair the audio chain on a FT-1000 MKV that had been hooked 
directly to a computer sound card. The radio and computer being on 
separate legs of the 220vac supply, "somehow" the final audio amp and a 
few switching transistors ahead of the amp  blew out.
I forgot why , but I got ok audio thru the headphone jack and knew the 
rest of the rig was ok, however,for the trouble , I probably should of 
just hooked the headphone jack to an external audio amp and forgotten 
about fixing the radio.
Good luck on hooking the packet jack up, as I recall you must change 
some menu settings.
