Hello FT-1000MP friends,

Today I opened up the FT-1000MP for the memory battery replacement and I
avoided losing the memories by doing the following.

1) removed bottom cover

2) turned FT-1000MP on

3) made sure I held on to chassis to avoid static discharge into radio.

4) removed battery and slid new Duracell 2032 into place

5) re assembled and tested and memories have been retained.

I tested the 14 year old 2032 battery and it still read 3.2 volts (radio
has always been plugged into 120Volts)

Years ago I created a typed list of all my settings but I wanted to avoid
playing in the menus to get everything right again.

Hope this helps someone!

Hello FT-1000MP friends,

I am about to replace the battery on my 14 year old radio.

If I leave the radio plugged into 120Volts and remove the battery will the

settings be lost in the menu?

Thank you and good DX

Douglas
