. . . and a bunch of countries will not be on the air in this band
. . . and in NA the effective radiated power is limited to 5 (five) watts.

In Stan's defense, the MP is advertised as
having a RX capability that includes the new
range as it comes stock from the factory.
Stating RX coverage is easy, determining if
the RX can perform at the needed level, that
may not be quite as easy to qualify.
Perhaps a check of the ARRL or RSGB reviews
might provide possible answers for this range
to see if they made any lab measurements?
Many rigs can be modified or "opened up" for
MARS and similar legal reasons. So one might
think the same could be done for any band?
So I can understand to a point Stan's query.
The reality, especially for TX below roughly
1.5 mHz, is not likely for the reasons that
I mentioned, the MP's TX circuits were never
designed for power out at this range and there
is not any easy way to retro-fit due to the
size and space required to TX below 1.5 mHz.
There are exceptions, as I believe the newer
K3 MIGHT allow for this?
For most of us, either a transverter or a very
simple rig for this new band will be a likely
path we take to enjoy the experimenting there.
Hope the helps!
