Stan,
You have posted this before, and the simple
answer is again, it is not going to work.
This is not about adding a new band in between
two existing ranges, like 60m was added.
This is about a range that is outside of what
the MP platform was ever considered to support.
HINT: Think how big/different the coils and such
are for 160m antennas than for 80m ... now do the
same comparison for this proposed range verses say
160m, this is a MAJOR difference.
How are the TX PA circuits, much less the RF amps
in the RX going to be able to function so far outside
of the range they were designed for? Not very well.
In reality, a transverter is going to be the only
practical option to operate with your existing MP.
Not the answer you were looking for, as to there
being some simple secret solution, this is reality.
