There is a menu setting in the Mark V, 4-3, that limits the tuning to 50 to
75 watts depending on what version you have. I have never had a spike
relating to drive power tuning my amp, it just won't happen. Other rigs that
are not limited to this drive power may spike on tuning, although over all
these years I have never heard of a Mark V (that has it's tuning drive power
limited) spike. Be confident, I wouldn't trade my Mark V for anything on the
market today
