I have performed the mod on all of W3LPL's rigs and a lot of others,
What I found is without the mod rise time was on the order of 2.5ms
And with the mod it was around 5ms. It was a noticeable difference
Listening on another radio, the clicks were gone.

I even attached 2 variable resistors to try and soften it even more but
Adding more resistance past what the mods says didn't make much of a
difference.

IRRC - This is a standard mod with info on the www.va3cr.net site.  Only a
few easy to find parts, but a bit of work to disassemble to get to the right
places.  There is a step by step with pictures for those of us - like me -
who need all the help they can get!  I have a downloaded PDF I can send to
anyone who can't find it otherwise.
