Hi John,

Email Byron Cambell at Electronic Equipment Servicing
http://www.hamradiobug.com/ he is the Mark V Guru, all he works on are the
Yaesu FT 1000 series. He's a great guy and honest as the day is long, I had
to send my Mark V back to him a second time because of a problem that my
outboard antenna tuner caused and he only charged me for parts, no labor. If
he doesn't know what the problem is nobody does. As long as your rig is
theret have him install the INRAD roofing filter, you can't go wrong with
it, seriously I wouldn't trust anyone with my Mark V other than Byron, check
his reviews on eham http://www.eham.net/reviews/detail/3128 he has 107
reviews all 5/5, nobody has that. He will work with you on your problem
