Jerome,

I use the MFJ1025, it is the one without the telescoping noise antenna. I
simply use the RF sensing circuit in the 1025 to switch the relay to bypass
the 1025 when I transmit. I have not had any problem with that and do not
run a transmit keying line to the 1025. I use the 2nd UHF female jack on
the back of the Mk V as a receive signal output to a second receiver.

The two modifications I have made to the 1025 were putting in a second relay
with the coil running off the other stock relay coil and wiring in the
additional relay so it switches the noise antenna jack to ground on
transmit. The second modification I did about two weeks ago was to throw
away the gain and phase potentiometers and replace them with wire wound
pots. The T/R delay pot I left because I do not adjust it much, but the
other three wore out and became noisy. I could not operate without the
1025 most of the time.
