[1000mp] 1000MP MkV Tuner

Dear Ray KB5DO: I must have left out a few critical words. "off-band
noise during the autotune calibration" is not a factor. The issue is about
spurious signals being received when the tuner is "on." That is to say that
signals are heard when the tuner is "on" that are on a different frequency
than the frequency indicated by the transceiver. Such spurious signals
result from a non-linear transform or device in the signal path. [Linear
transforms or devices do not create new frequencies.]
I too rarely use the tuning feature of my FT1000MP MkV (200 watt version).
When I do turn "on" the tuner, I do not hear spurious signals. However, my
colleague does hear spurious signals.
Thanks again. 73 Mac N8TT

OK The tuner is turned on or off at in the Menu selection 8-8. After a
reset I go to each band and go to cw portion and push tuner button
once. I go to ssb section and press button once. I do not press button
again each time I go back to that band. I guess I do not understand why a
large concern with off-band noise during the autotune calibration. I
probably do not hit the tuner button 6 or 7 times per year.. I would be
more concern about tuning antennas. 73
