Good idea Stu.  Take it to the range and squeeze a few rounds through it.  Thanks for the heads up anyway, just in case
anyone I know thinks about buying one.

Anthony, I used isolation transformers on both audio lines going
to the computer and on the patch output line to the Rascal from
the rig. Nothing worked. Johnny, maker of the Isoterm that I
ended up buying, gave me some measurements to check to see
if there was sufficient isolation for the Rascal and the numbers
indeed showed sufficient isolation where there shouldn't have been
a ground loop hum. I bought his unit anyway as I was running out
of hair to pull and since it is only a hobby (but rather all encompassing)
I was sick and tired of things not working right. 

I won't sell this Rascal to another ham.
