[1000mp] Ft1000mp distortion on received audio

Hello all

I have a problem, I think, with my rather elderly FT1000mp (plain vanilla).

It is currently on my bench alongside a couple of other rigs and I have
noticed some distortion on the receiver audio, which is particularly
noticeable on strong signals. It does not matter whether I chose slow or
fast agc. If I turn off the agc and use the rf gain to control the volume,
quality is much better. So it may be an agc problem.

I've made sure the NB is off and the NB control pot is fully
counter-clockwise. There is no DSP engaged.

It puts me in mind of very elderly valved receivers, where a leaky capacitor
in the agc line would cause this effect.

Does this problem sound familiar to anyone ?

I don't really know where to start looking inside.

Thanks in advance.
