I too used to work on radios. Take Whitneys advice and repair the board. Sometimes you can find parts for these radios on Ebay. Here is another suggestion, try this fellow Ham for parts or service. www.hamradiobug.com , his name is Byron Campbell and he is real good.
Also, it's not only Yaesu that quits making parts after a certain number of years, it's all of the Ham gear people.... and just about all manufacturers. Good luck.
