[1000mp] FTv1000 compatibility

Hi Folks.
I have an opportunity to buy an early 1000MP serial number SL350106.
And a NOS FTV1000 transverter.
I am told they dont match but that MAYBE Yaesu found a way.
I saw this on a 2005 forum so its some time ago.
Can you run an FTV1000 6M t/verter off an early 1000MP If SO HOW SO, IF NOT
WHY NOT?
