[1000mp] No modulation from packet jack?

Assuming you have a voltage divider in the line going from the soundcard
audio output to the packet jack audio input, check to make sure that is
still intact as well as the rest of the solder connections. If you set the
soundcard to maximum output and then adjust the mic gain on the radio, do
you see any indication of RF going out and 50% ALC? If not, I'd check the
cabling and the sound card first; then if you have to open the rig and
inspect the packet jack area. You should also use the PKT button using AFSK
and not the RTTY button.

Subject: [1000mp] No modulation from packet jack?

After some months I tried my AFSK setup that was working fine before,
sound card in via the "packet" jack in back. I try transmitting, but I
get no indications on the ALC or power output that anything is
happening. I can hear the tones if I turn MONI on, so they're getting to
the audio input. I turned up the MIC and RF PWR controls, so it's not
those. Going to normal SSB settings and talking shows output as one
would expect I suppose it's possible the 1000MP (original MP, not mark
anything) has decided to ignore just the PKT jack (but after the point
MONI is taken off??) but I always suspect cockpit error first (or
second, after cables and connectors, but since I can hear the tones
through monitor, I think that's ok.) Does anybody have any idea what
knob or setting I might have tweaked to get this behavior?
