[1000mp] possible 1000MP upgrade

I just figured out what was wrong with my MP:
nothing! It turns out that that my external antenna
tuner has a dirty bandswitch, which causes the
intermittent transmitting problem. Well, that solves
one problem, but not the one about upgrading. I would
still like to have 200W but don't want to buy an amp.
And the MP isn't getting any younger (with stories
about displays that go dark and other aging pains that
get pretty hard to fix). Is the FT-2000D really worth
the money? I guess one alternative is to buy a cheap
SB-220 and keep the MP.
