Alex,

IMHO you are not investing your money wisely to "upgrade" from the MP to any
of the MarkV models unless you can get a fully loaded unit at a reasonable
price.

I have six of the MP's (varying year models) all of which have the full
complement of Inrad mods and filters (including the most bang for the buck
mod, the roofing filter).

If you have not done the above mods, in particular the roofing filter, then
I highly recommend that direction for the most bang for your buck in an
"upgrade".

For the most bang for the buck in the new rigs, I personally have chosen to
go with the Elecraft K3. I don't need to expound on the features and
performance. The reviews already tell you that. I will personally know for
myself after 3 weeks experience with the K3's at VP6DX. My experience with
the K2 series of radios from Elecraft and the personal integrity of the
Elecraft designers led me to place an order for a K3 last May.

Just yesterday Elecraft advised me my K3 was being readied to ship. Since
it would arrive at the exact time I am leaving for the Ducie DXped, I chose
to have them delay my shipment until later, and allow everyone elses order
to shift one up on the list.

So, that is my dos centavos in this thread.
