[1000mp] FT-1000MP MarkV Field problem / question

Gang,

I posted a description of what seemed an odd problem with my Yaesu a while
back. Further experimenting has painted a clearer picture of the problem.

As an experiment I selected split, but NOT dual. I had a friend listen and I
am indeed operating split, and the frequency on vfo's A and B are correct.
If I then select Dual, I should hear vfo A in my left ear, and the
Subreceiver that is following vfo B in my right ear. I do hear vfo A in my
left ear. Tuning vfo B does change the frequency that it is tuned to and and
I transmitting on. However I only hear band noise in my right ear, even when
I know that vfo B is tuned to a huge pilup and I should be hearing all kinds
of signals.

I took the radio apart so I could get at the Sub Receiver board. I wiggled
everything, hoping I would find an intermittant connection. No such luck.

Any great ideas will be appreciated.

Second question. I saw the posting about a potential recall of the Yaesu. I
searched the Yaesu USA website and see nothing about it. Does anyone have
more info.

Thanks,
Steve
