Hi guys
Anyone been able to figure why I get the frequency error when I select the 
Transvereter option of prefixing the suffix with 50?

Also I have found no evidence that using the IPO or not causes any 
detrimental damage to the FT1000MP MKV.

I agree the levels are all over the place from the transverter to the IF 
especially as the two preamps have widely differing gains like about 10db.

As to the best configuration I am till out on that.
If you set  the 28 MHZ if to TUNED Front end the level jumps another 6db.
Flat is better but using the Flat response and PREAMP 2 I get breakthrough 
from an FM station at 5 km running 60kw on 88.9 that I do not hear on the 
PREAMP 1 (less gain).

Initial evaluation after 12 hours on air working stuff.

the dual receivers are a gem.
The FTV1000/1000MP hears really well.
As good as anything I have owned including 570SG and 690SAT.

The FTV1000 lags its claimed output power in PEP by 20 watts.

The 25.000 MHZ Control oscillator is a serious problem.

My mark 1 has to be turned OFF when I am on 6M or I kill 110 eventually.
The MKV drops the carrier eventually onto KH6 beacon on 061.

I have just ordered 10 ceramic oscillators to find on that stops below 
25.000.

How this error/design fault got past the QC guys at YAesu is beyond me given 
their pedantic about performance and the advertising blurb that preamble the 
MKV.

They did NOT fix this fault in the MKV.
They left the CONTROL Board exactly the same.

This is a design fault you HAVE TO LIVE WITH.
And I dont have the resources to solve it easily
but I will find a crystal in  a metal case on 24.999 to replace the pvc 
ceramic osc.
